Stacy and Roger had a gorgeous fall day for their wedding! The not-so-traditional couple mixed tradition with some unique twists to give their celebration a fun atmosphere.
After watching America's Next Top Model, this girl knows how to sass it up in her faux fir!
These girls were ready to celebrate!
Stacy made all the girls jewelry, plus her own.
Stacy and Roger had a sand ceremony in place of the traditional unity candle. At the end of the ceremony the couple walked down the aisle to cheers and the music from Star Wars.
Cigars to celebrate!
The happy couple.

Diane + Jim
We shot Diane & Jim's wedding in the quaint little town of Salisbury, NC. Although the weather wasn't exactly ideal, we had great locations to shoot in! St. John's Lutheran Church and The Rowan Museum provided a historic, intimate backdrop for a lovely evening. Thanks Diane & Jim for the good taste!

Gotta love a veil shot...
It looks sunny!
So happy together....

Istanbul
Internet connections are a hit or miss in Turkey so I am a bit behind!
For our ventures throughout Istanbul we had a guide, Zeycan, and driver, whose name I never knew. Zeycan was very knowledgeable about the city and Turkish history.
Our first stop was to the Dolmabahce Place which is situated along Bosphorus waterway (the Bophorus is very storied and important waterway connecting the Black Sea and the Sea of Marama). This was the sultan's palace. In one grand room there is a 4 and a half ton chandelier.
From there we went to Ortakoy, a hip district of restaurants and crafts stands. Afterwards our day took us to the Kariye Museum. This important monument is famous for its mosaics and frescoes.
Cok Selam!
More to come soon!

Merhaba!
Merhaba!
Greetings from Istanbul!
Our trip began with an hour flight to NYC's JFK airport, then a ten hour trip to Turkey. At the airport in Raliegh we saw former senator and vice-presidential nominee John Edwards. On the flight from JFK to Turkey I had two airplane seats to myself. I slept in every position imaginable on the flight over.
Once we checked into our hotel, we had an Efes Pilsen and Meza on the hotel's terrace overlooking the Marmara sea on one side and the Blue Mosque on the other side. After resting, we wandered the streets around the Blue Mosque and through the carpet bazaar. We had a wonderful dinner in the fish market district. Turkey's known for it's fantastic seafood. Lots of lively characters and warm friendly folks.
We have been eating and sight-seeing our way through Istanbul. Here are some picts from our adventures thus far. Stay tuned for more!

love in the air
Dawn and John got married in a lovely sunrise service.....in a hot air balloon! We were very excited when they called us to shoot their wedding- what a unique experience! Although we were unable to fly because of thunderstorms in the area, Asheville Hot Air Balloons saved the day and let us go up tethered. It turned out to be a beautiful morning for a beautiful couple!
They picked wildflowers for each other's lapels- very sweet. Love that tie too!

We love these shots! These two were really made for one another..
On the way to a lovely creekside picnic...
The leek tarts were delicious! Martha would be proud!

he thinks my tractor's sexy
Sorry- we couldn't resist the title! Breean let out her inner "top model" at her bridal shoot at The Hayloft, which once again proved to be a great location. We're so glad we were able to do these during beautiful weather, since it rained the entire wedding day! Good call on getting these shot beforehand, Breean! Have a great time on your honeymoon!
Love the custom-designed wedding dress!
This girl looks great with a hat on!
