spotlight magazine

Greensboro has come a looooong way in the past few years. It has transformed from ghost town into a vibrant downtown!

We are working with the folks at Spotlight Magazine and some other wedding vendors in the area to help get the word out that downtown G'boro is an awesome location to get married! We are going to follow our friends Chris Kimery and Jeff Frederico through their entire downtown wedding experience. They are getting married this Saturday and we will be there to capture every minute of it! The wedding edition of Spotlight Magazine will come out in September. Here are some shots from our cover shoot. We began on the balcony of The Empire Room. The cover features food from the Painted Plate and flowers from It's Beautiful.

After getting just the right shot for the cover of the magazine we decided to do some fun stuff around downtown. There are so many great locations up and down Elm Street for photos. We even got some shots of Chris and Jeff getting a ride in a rikshaw! It was fun, but very hot so we stopped by FinnCastles for a drink and some AC on the way back to the empire room.

We are looking forward to the wedding this weekend!

What next?

Some people have asked what we were thinking when we decided to launch a new wedding business in the height of wedding season, well........we're crazy! But we're also very excited! We're frantically trying to pull everything together for our new website to go live on July 1st. It's a huge undertaking but it will be well worth it! At least that's what we're telling our husbands as here we are working on the computer at 10:30 on Friday night :)

In the meantime, we've had some great weddings lately. Check out some pics below! Have a good one- Mel

Fun in the country!

We were not sure if the June thundershowers were going to cooperate, but by the time we began shooting Laine and Richard's engagement pictures the rain had stopped and there was beautiful light streaming through the steam rising off the hot ground. Laine and Richard brought their dog Murphy along with them on their journey from SC. Once we got my cat quarantined to my bedroom everyone settled down and began to enjoy the shoot. Here are a few pics. Time for me to go to bed...we have a wedding at a historic home in Reidsville tomorrow! Goodnight!
